Our beloved Jeremy Matthew will forever be remembered by his much-loved daughter, Nevaeh Caroline and his whole family.
Jeremy was born in Minot ND to Georgette Berg-Pratt and Lealon Pratt on February 20, 1980. As the first-born grandson and nephew, he was adored and was the perfect addition to the Berg Family.
His school years, with the exception of his second grade in Glenburn, were spent in Minot.
There was rarely Jeremy without Jessica. They were like peanut butter and jelly and where you found one, you found the other. Playing Nintendo would keep them occupied for hours. Going to the Bump N’ Tilt was one of their favorite past times.
He was “forced” to take piano lessons by his mother who then made him sing Christmas carols with his cousins and sister to an appreciative Nursing Home audience. It was a precious sight to behold.
Jeremy played drums in Jr. High and High School band. He enjoyed his time in wrestling.
He was very proud of his cooking abilities and made many friends during his time working at the Glenburn Café. Over the years, he worked many jobs in the food, oil, and construction industries in the Minot area.
Jeremy was so affable and made friends easily. Kelly Short is a childhood friend who still is to this day.
The highlight of his life was his daughter, Nevaeh Caroline, who he had with Megan Dawn Sandberg in 2006. He was so very proud of being her dad. Father-daughter dances, watching her cheerlead and play basketball. Watching her ski and skate – and watching her grow up to be the beautiful young lady she is today.
Jeremy was preceded in death by: His father, Lealon Pratt, his beloved Grandfather, Lyle Berg; Megan Dawn Sandberg, the mother of daughter Nevaeh.
Those who were honored to be part of Jeremy’s life were: His daughter, Nevaeh Caroline Pratt; mother, Georgette Berg Pratt; his sister, Jessica Rose Pratt (son, Cash and daughter, Henna Danielson); his grandmother, Caroline Knutson Berg; his special aunt and uncle/Godparents, Mickey and Sonja Mickelson, and his favorite cousins, Anton (Kendra) Mickelson (Ethan, Derek, Wayne, Verla, Hans) and Tyler (Mary) Mickelson (Porter, Burke). His uncle Lowell (Vonda) Berg, daughter, Jessica (Kelly Peach) Whetter (daughter, Regan James). His aunt, Patricia (Chris) Riker, son, Mitch (Ashley Coburn) Riker (Karlee Chenevey, Ellie Rose Riker); daughter, Nicole M. Riker; son, John Riker. His aunt Heidi (Joe Persinger) Berg, daughter Trista (Teddy) Wisely (Emersyn, Benjamin, Addilyn). Special aunt, Verla Hodgson; Longtime family friend, Ron Sandquist, (Marshall, MN)
A memorial service will be held for Jeremy on Friday, December 3rd at Trinity Lutheran Church, Glenburn, at 2:00 pm. Please bring your memories to share. A Berg-style lunch will be served afterwards so please feel free to stay and visit. Interment will take place at Lynch Immanuel Cemetery at a later date.
