Clayton Leroy Kruckenberg, 83, rural Minot, died Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at his home.
Clayton was born on September 1, 1941 at Zap, North Dakota the son of Heinrich and Clara (Unrath) Kruckenberg. He was raised and educated at Wing, where he also assisted with the operation of the family farmstead.
Clayton was united in marriage to Marjorie Mason on May 26, 1961 at Tuttle, ND. They lived at various towns in North Dakota and Nebraska while he was employed with various construction jobs in those areas as a heavy equipment operator.
They moved to the Minot area in 1970, where he was employed with Haugen Construction for 23 years as a bonded welder and for nearly 20 years for Dale Pietsch. He retired in 2006. Marjorie died on September 27, 2014.
Clayton was a member of Saron Lutheran Church, rural Minot. He was a registered beekeeper and enjoyed woodworking. Clayton valued spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were very important to him.
Clayton’s loving family includes, children, Daniel (Alice) Kruckenberg, Minot; Veronica (Charles) Lewis, Stanley, ND and Jessin Kruckenberg, Colorado Springs, CO; daughter in law, Chris Kruckenberg, Fallon, NV; 7 grandchildren to include: 13 great grandchildren along with several siblings.
Clayton was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 53 years; son, Clifford and a brother, Milton and sister, Arlene.
