Amanda Lee Seidler, born on January 6, 1939 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, with her three loving daughters by her side. During her most recent hospital stay Amanda courageously requested her daughters blessing and understanding of no more doctors and hospitals and wanted to go on hospice. Her three daughters brought her home to Garrison to enjoy her last days with family and friends. Amanda died on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at her home with her three daughters right by her side.
During her last hospital stay Amanda had a vision. She followed a beautiful bright light and came upon an amazing green pasture with many animals. Amanda stated that no one talked but everyone knew each other, and it was peaceful. She saw her loving late husband, Homer, her parents Margaret & Andrew Krueger, brother John Krueger, brother in law Ron Stammen nephew Larry Stammen and son in law Larry Kerzman. Her detailed explanation brought her daughters so much peace.
In these last few weeks Amanda was blessed to be able to enjoy visits both telephone and in-person, from family and friends throughout her journey. One weekend she was surrounded by her grandchildren and enjoyed holding her newest great grandchild of 3 weeks. Another day was devoted to siblings and nieces along with close family friends. Although these visits were tiring, they were Amanda’s highlight. Amanda continued her witty sense of humor and brought her family so much joy, laughs and tears through her journey.

Amanda was born and raised in the Garrison, ND surrounding area. For many years she was the Activities Director at the Garrison Nursing Home and later volunteer. She was also involved in many activities at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Nothing brought Amanda more joy than knowing her daughters were happy and safe. She was very grateful to know that her children had excellent spouses and were blessings and they loved her in kind. Amanda lived a beautiful life and provided comfort and solace while asking little in return.
Amanda’s favorite flower is the Purple Crocus. The Crocus symbolizes rebirth, innocence, joy and new-beginnings.
To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly is an understatement. Amanda leaves behind three loving daughters; Cindy Kerzman, Wolf Creek, ND, Bonnie (Todd) Banek, Monticello, MN and Sherrie (Ted) Appel, The Villages, FL. Six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
At her request, in her final wishes, there will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 10:30 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She wished to be remembered and acknowledged as a hard-working, loving mother, loyal, unselfish friend. Burial will be held at the Garrison City Cemetery.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, please donate to CHI Hospice, Garrison Camp of the Cross, Garrison Fire and Ambulance Crew and St. Paul Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.

We rarely express our gratitude for someone. Our Mom made sure we always knew how much she cared. She reminded us every day how important we were to her. We knew she loved us because she took the time to tell us every day. Our Mom was an incredible person. We feel very lucky to have been her 3 daughters. We want to express our gratitude to her for everything she did for us.
Our Mother, Amanda, was loved by so many. She always knew how to brighten someone’s day and make them feel loved. She treated everyone with kindness and respect. She rarely got mad and when she did, you knew she had a darn good reason! Her outlook on life was inspiring. If you were lucky to spend more than five minutes in her presence, you were forever changed. We are so grateful to have had a mother who embraced each day with optimism. PS Mom – we LOVE YOU MORE!
