Jack Slorby

Jack Slorby, 78, Minot died on Sunday at his home following a long battle with schizophrenia.

Jack Leroy Slorby was born on March 21, 1945 in Minot to Leroy and Constance (McGovern) Slorby. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1963. As a high school student he was very active in basketball, football, baseball and track. Jack continued his education at Minot State University, the University of North Dakota and Golden Gate University where he received a degree in accounting and computer science and participated in the ROTC program. Jack’s employment history included time at Sears in Janesville, WI, North Dakota State Capitol, Brady Martz and was self-employed as a certified public accountant. As a young adult he was stricken with schizophrenia and battled the challenges of that disease the rest of his life.

Jack is survived by his siblings: Tom Slorby, Bob (Omana) Slorby and Lynda Slorby all of Minot. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
