Vivian Seier, 94, Minot, died Thursday, September 8, 2022, in a Minot nursing care facility.

Vivian was born March 16, 1928, on the Hagen family farm in Bottineau County, North Dakota located northeast of Bottineau, ND to Ole Jr. and Olga (Aasness) Hagen. She was educated in country school during her early years and completed high school in Bottineau.

Vivian married Charles Seier on December 23, 1948, in Bottineau, North Dakota. They lived with her family for a couple of years on the farm, moved to Chicago for a brief time and returned to North Dakota in the mid 1950’s, planting their roots in Minot.

Vivian was blessed to care for her three boys at home while Charles worked for International Brands (Sweetheart Bakery). She started working in the school lunch program at Jim Hill Middle School in 1967, serving youngsters for nearly two decades until she retired following the passing of her husband on August 7, 1985.

Vivian was a member of Minot’s Bethany Lutheran Church, where she was active in circle and with the quilters of the church. She enjoyed volunteering for Høstfest activities through the church that lead to friendships that she treasured over the years. Vivian used the talents of her hands to create many works through sewing, quilting, and knitting. She will be missed deeply for the love she shared with family.

Vivian is survived by her son John (Julie) Seier, Minot; daughter-in-law Phyllis Seier, Thornton, CO; grandchildren Andrew (Kaylee) Seier, Katie (Nicholas) Johnson, Lucas Seier, Emily Seier, and Benjamin Seier; great-grandchildren Tucker, Pepper, Owen, Hendrix, Charlotte, and Oliver; and several nieces and nephews.
