Victor F. Hannesson, 85, Minot, died Friday, October 22, 2021 in a Minot Hospital.

Victor was born September 27, 1936 at Towner, North Dakota, the son of Johannes and Alice (Friet) Hannesson.   He was raised at Bantry and entered into active duty service with the U.S. Air Force.  He honorably served his country from 1956-1958 and returned to North Dakota.

Throughout the years, Victor was employed as a farm laborer for area farmers, worked as a mechanic for Nelson Motors in Minot and as a truck driver for Hjalmer Carlson Sanitation Company. 

Victor volunteered more than 10,000 hours with Trinity Homes that spanned a decade.  In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family.

Victor’s loving family includes, his sisters, Josie Pfau of Minot, Florence (Harvey) Herslip, of Minot, Jan Higgins of Apple Valley, CA and Nita Mobley of Minot; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Victor was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Marino Hannesson; sisters, Vilborg Bond, Snjolaug Torr, Helga Black, Kristine Schmitz, Mary Anderson & Anna Lampoltshamer.

Funeral Service: Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment:  Bantry Cemetery.
Visitation:  At his request, there will not be a viewing, however friends may sign the memorial register book on Thursday, October 28th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials:  Memorials are preferred to the Bantry Cemetery, Trinity Homes or organization of the donor’s choice.
