Everett Schweitzer, 90, Berthold died Friday, September 17, 2021, surrounded by family in a Mohall nursing home.

Everett was born October 14, 1930, in Kenmare, ND to Wilbert and Maffie (Nelson) Schweizer.  He was raised and educated in Tolley.  After the completion of 8th grade, he took on a job in Tolley until he enlisted into the US Navy on June 7, 1948.  Everett served his country honorably and was discharged from active duty on June 2, 1952.  He returned home to Tolley.

Everett was united in marriage to Pauline Jones on June 21, 1953, in Sherwood.  This union would be blessed with six children.  They lived in Tolley for seven years, then moved to Washington state for a short time before returning to North Dakota and settling in Berthold in 1962.

Everett was employed by Roise Implement which later became Green Power Equipment, he retired in 1993 after nearly 30 years of dedicated service.

Everett was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, serving on the church council. He was active in the community as a member of the Berthold American Legion and the Berthold Senior Citizen’s Group.  Everett also served on the Berthold City Council and the Berthold Volunteer Fire Department.

He spent many hours fishing with his brothers, wife, children, and grandchildren.  He enjoyed traveling with family, playing cards with friends and was also a talented carpenter, helping with remolding projects for his children and grandchildren. In his retirement he looked forward to harvest when he was able to help run the combine.  He will be missed for his whity sense of humor, musical talent, and his handiwork and attention to detail will not be forgotten.
