Dawn Allison Belyea Reich, of Bismarck, ND, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 23rd, 2023, after a short yet courageous battle against breast cancer. A celebration of life will be held on May 1st, 2023, at the Bismarck Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Cremation services have taken place.
Dawn Allison Belyea was born on November 20th, 1958, in Bismarck, ND, to Ethel and Dean Belyea. Dawn grew up and was educated in the Bismarck area with a variety of interests. She pursued trade education at Bismarck State College and spent time working in HVAC at the college upon completion. She also worked as an EMT in Bismarck.
Dawn married Gerald “Gary” Reich in July of 1985; to this marriage three children, Edwin, Emily, and Elle, were born. Dawn spent her life loving her children who she regarded as the “best part” and greatest additions to her life.
Dawn was a person who loved all living things, spending much of her adult life caring for many animals, providing a voice to the voiceless. Dawn was a selfless advocate for all living things and was an active participant and supporter of numerous local animal rescues. Dawn passed her love and respect for animals to her family. Dawn spent her time caring for others but also loved and cared for nature. She enjoyed planting flowers and doing what she could to make the world a more beautiful place for those in it.
Dawn is survived by her former spouse, Gary Reich, Bismarck, ND; her children, Edwin (Lisa) Reich, Emily Reich, both of Bismarck, ND, Elle (Matthew) White, of Dent, MN, and her birth son, Shane Roden, of Fargo, ND; two grandchildren, Freyja Reich and Ian Kearns, both of Bismarck, ND; her mother, Ethel Hagburg, Bismarck, ND; two sisters, Dee (Kelly) Bertsch, Bismarck, ND, and Darcy (Fred) Meyers of Eagen, MN; two nephews, Levi and Tre Meyers, of Eagen, MN; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and four beloved animals who are now in the care of her daughters.
Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Dean Belyea; stepfather Raymond Hagburg; former mother-in-law, Elsie Schatz and former sister-in-law Marian Stolz.
