Jessica Lynn Bowers, 41, of Bismarck, ND was born on May 30, 1981 in Denver, CO to Mike and Tammy Bowers.  She is mother to Jadakyss; little sister to Becky; big sister to Katie, Kristen, Brittney, Jacob & Peggy; and favorite Tia to Joaquin, Maceo, Kiarah, Kaian, Olivia, Addison, Haidyn, Grace, Raegan, Kassandra, Michael, Joseph, Maiah, Brynn and Abigail.  She loved these children with all of her heart and they in turn loved her back.

Jessica found her true joy in her son Jadakyss.  She was the perfect mom for him, and she loved him beyond measure.  She enjoyed their nightly conversations, and she kept up with his high school basketball team and anything else he was interested in.  She was extremely proud when he recently joined the North Dakota Army National Guard and looked forward to hearing about all of his adventures.  From the time Jade was an infant, even though he did not live with his mom, she made sure to see or speak with him every day when it was possible.  Early on, he showed a sense of compassion and gentleness towards her.  He will miss their conversations, her hugs and her unconditional love.

Jessica was employed by Sunny Maids and was very proud to be coming up on her three-year anniversary.  She formed great friendships with her co-workers and felt especially supported and loved by her boss Marsha.

She was passionate about helping those who suffered from mental illnesses like her own and was always willing to do anything to advocate for them.  She was grateful to have been able to speak with the governor about the needs of those with mental illnesses.  She also met with EMS and law enforcement through a program with West Central Human Services to discuss ways that they could interact with each other without fear in times of crisis.

Jessica was known for her red lipstick and her goofy sense of humor.  She had a special gift of finding and appreciating the good in anyone she met.  Although her life was short, she made a huge and lasting impact on those who knew and loved her.  We find comfort in knowing that she is in the arms of her beloved Jesus.

Jessica is survived by her son, Jadakyss Humphrey; parents, Mike and Tammy Bowers of Plaza; sisters, Becky (Ghery) Fimbres of Mesa, AZ, Katie Bowers (Mike Christiansen), Kristen (Nathan) Hammond, and Brittney (Joshua) Christianson of Bismarck, as well as Peggy (Kevin) Cales of Plaza; brother, Jacob Bowers (Alma Aguilar) of Bakersfield, CA; ten nieces; five nephews; grandfather, Ronald (Genevieve) Lampert of Bismarck; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that she dearly loved.

Jessica was preceded in death by grandmothers, Peggy Lampert and Grace Bowers; her great-grandparents; aunt, Brenda Wilkinson; and cousins, Sheridan Fraccaro and Daniel Petz.

Jessica’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all of her case managers throughout the years, Orla at the DRC as well as the staff and her housemates at Gerridees.
