Betty Jane Bahmiller, 93, passed away at home on Dec. 4, 2021. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10 at the Pro-Cathedral of St. Mary, 806 E Broadway, Bismarck, with a rosary beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow immediately at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck..
Betty was born May 24, 1928, in Bismarck to Michael and Anna Marback. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1946. Betty married Lawrence Bahmiller on February 18, 1947, and together they raised five children. She retired from Montana-Dakota Utilities after 36 years of service.
Betty lived her life with a deep sense of faith. Her faith was exhibited in her daily life through praying the rosary and watching mass on television when she was no longer able to attend in person. She also exhibited a great deal of love for her family. Each member knew how special they were to her because she made it a point to tell them so. She was a pillar of strength and a foundation of faith.
Betty touched many people’s lives through her knitting talents. Whether a Christmas stocking or baptism blanket each stitch was made with a great deal of love. She generously donated shawls to the Bismarck Cancer Center in memory of her sister Lillian and was more than happy to offer one to anyone who may have needed a little touch of comfort during a difficult time.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Jeff) Richholt, Nancy Senger and Mark (Tracy) Bahmiller; daughter-in-law Cathy Bahmiller; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special niece and nephew, Libby and Jay Simes.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence; sons, Larry and Gary Bahmiller; sister, Lillian Simes; and brothers, Mike and George Marback.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Betty’s granddaughter Kari Richholt who lovingly provided Grandma with 24-hour care, granting Betty’s wish to remain in her own home until her passing.
In addition, we would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley for their tender and compassionate care of our mother and grandmother.
