Our hearts are forever broken; our loved one, Chet Leingang, surrounded by his loving family left this earth to be with Jesus on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Sanford Health, Bismarck

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, November 29, 2021, at Mandan United Methodist Church, Mandan, A Livestream of the Service will be available on the Bismarck Funeral Home Facebook page.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 28, from 6:00-7:00 PM at Mandan United Methodist Church, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Chet was born on November 14, 1957, to Richard N. and Chloe (Wead) Leingang.  He grew up in Mandan and graduated from Mandan High School in 1976.  He worked at a bazillion jobs, but mostly in the auto parts industry for 30+ years; most recently managing the North O’Reilly Auto Parts store (Thank you to the staff!).

Chet met Deb Geist, set up by friends in 1981 and they were married in 1983.  We welcomed into our lives, our daughter, Nikki in 1985, and daughter, Jaymi in 1989.  Such daddy’s girls as they had him wrapped around their little fingers!  Chet and Deb later divorced but remarried after 4 years apart.  Blessed to join our family are much loved sons-in-law, Robert Pedersen and James Langer.  But the best part were the additions of four grandkids, Jackson, Brentley, Ezra, and Scarlett who have stolen Papa Chet’s heart.

Everyone that knew Chet, knew he loved the Lord, his family, the Vikings, motorcycles (especially Harley Davidsons) Nascar, the NDSU Bison, and secretly, Hallmark movies.  Chet and his motorcycle momma, Deb spent a lot of time on the Harley enjoying rides immensely.  Everyone also knew what a staunch Republican he was, who was more than willing to share his opinion on all things political (Let’s go ___________!).

Chet is deeply missed by his wife, Deb; daughter, Nikki (Robert) Pedersen and their children Brentley and Scarlett of Lincoln, daughter, Jaymi (James)  Langer and their children Jackson and Ezra of Gettysburg, SD; mother, Chloe; mother-in-law, Virginia Geist; brothers, Todd (Laurie) Russ (Tammy); sister, Jill (Tom) Hertz; sister-in-law, Bonnie Kennedy; and many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, many friends, great coworkers, and many friends of the Mandan United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; father-in-law, Richard Geist; and his grandparents.

Chet was not a formal guy and would love it if you could wear something Vikings, Harley Davidson, Nascar, or Bison to celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers, please make donation in his name to Mandan United Methodist Church.

Love and miss you CAL
