Barbara Hoff, 100, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the Richardton Health Center, Richardton. Barbara’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton with Fr. Thomas Wordkemper, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Richardton. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Robert Bohn presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Barbara was born August 10, 1920 in Richardton to Phillip and Barbara (Martin) Messer. She grew up on the family farm south of Richardton.
On June 15, 1943 she married Leo Hoff, they made their home south of Richardton, where they farmed and raised their children.
Barbara was a member of the Christian Mothers and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed time with her family, cooking, gardening and sewing.
Barbara is survived by her children, Joann (Wally) Hoselton, Sharon (Leonard) Schaefer, Gerald (Koleen) Hoff, Ambrose (Charlotte) Hoff, Rita (Lee) Schaefer, Jeff Hoff and Lucas (Jolene) Hoff; a sister, Setona Gartner; sister-in-law, Anita Messer; 34 grandchildren; 90 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, on March 18, 2010; daughter, Carol; her parents; five brothers; four sisters; a son-in-law; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight sisters-in-law; and nine brothers-in-law.
