Leilani Precious Fox-LaCroix steečiwáku taraawiíš “Gray Fox Woman”, her name given to her by her great-grandma Doreen Yellow Bird, was born in Bismarck, ND to Bobbette Fox-LaCroix and John LaCroix on April 16, 2009. Leilani “Loni” made her journey on January 17, 2026, in her home in White Shield, ND.

Loni attended school in White Shield, ND from 2015-2026. In her elementary days Loni liked arts and crafts, playing barbies and playing “Just Dance”. She loved dance so much, she went to dance school in Garrison for a couple of years. Loni also loved to swim, she learned how to swim at four years old and spent a lot of time swimming in pools and at the lake with her friends. She was a little fish! She often played outside on the trampoline with Marquis, Nathan, and Matthew. Loni got her nickname from Nathan and Matthew at a young age, they weren’t able to say Leilani, together they were known as LMN by their family. Loni had the cutest voice and contagious little laugh. While her mom and dad went to bingo, Loni spent a lot of time with Arline and Ian, going shopping at the mall, enjoying movies at the theater and just cruising around listening to music. Loni enjoyed playing sports like basketball, cross country, and later volleyball. She achieved many awards and ribbons. A few snacks she could not live without were her Hot Cheetos, Takis, and pickles with a Dr. Pepper to wash them down.

Loni started her sophomore year in Fargo, ND with her two brothers, Matthew and Nathan. Before returning to White Shield in August of 2025. Loni gave birth to her baby girl, Sunday Ree Fox on May 25, 2025, in Fargo, ND. Sunday Ree was delivered by her grandpa John.

Loni was always so kind, sweet, and quiet. She kept to herself, never a bad bone in her body. Loni loved her daughter, Sunday, so much. She was shy but once she opened up, all her jokes came out. One summer, Loni and Whisper were about nine years old, Loni jumped out the top window and Whisper followed, they were laughing and crying outside. Whisper was told “If Loni jumps off a bridge are you going to?” And Whisper in her crying voice says “probably”. They did everything together, literally. Loni will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. Fly High Beautiful Baby Girl.
