Tammy Winchell, 64, Minot and formerly of Tennessee died on Thursday, October 10, 2024 in her daughter’s home under the care of her daughter and Trinity Hospice.
Tammy Elaine was born on October 10, 1960 in Corning, NY to her parents, Bill and Clara. She was raised and educated in New York and Ohio during her teenage years. She was a proud product of the “Hippie Era.” She made her home in Portland, TN and moved to Minot in 2019 where she was employed as a cook at Little Hands and Loving Hearts Daycare. She considered the children of the daycare “her kids”. Ill health forced her retirement in 2023.
Tammy enjoyed baking especially cakes and cheesecakes, loved a good cup of coffee, butterflies and spending time with her “grands”. She was stubborn, sassy and maintained her sense of humor until the end.
Tammy is survived by her mom and step-father: Mary (Roger) Felton; children: Mike (Sarah) McInerny of Rochester NY, Kathy Jo (Mike) Bihlman of Huber Heights OH, Burgundy (Nick) McMahan of Minot and Trevor (Casey) Winfield-Smith of Minot; grandchildren: Bryant (Briana), Jordan, Kyle (Sierra), Kameron, Rainly Jo, Nathan, Lex, Zane, Zoei, Izzi, Mik, Nolan and Zachary; great grandson: Kayden; siblings: Sue Hayes, Terry (Randy) Hall, Jeff MacKenzie, Paul Smith, Jim Smith and Sue Christy; sisters-in-law: Jaclynn Hewitt and Tracy Singh; and several nieces and nephews whom she adored.
