Carol Flory Lindekugel, 84, Minot and formerly of Sawyer died on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in a Minot hospital. She had courageously battled a lung infection for the past three weeks and her family was at her side.
Carol Fay was born on September 18, 1939 in Minot to Marion and Alice (Berget) Vannett. She was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1957.
Carol was once married to Kenneth Flory and they made their home in Sawyer where they raised their six children. Carol was employed at the Sawyer School, various Minot restaurants. She moved to Minot in 1991 and she was employed as a cook at Bishop Ryan High School.
Carol married LeRoy Lindekugel on March 27, 1998 at the Southside Church of the Nazarene in Minot. They made their home in Minot where Carol was employed at Walmart and part time as a school lunch cashier at Sunnyside Elementary School. She retired in 2005.
Carol was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene where she was a member of the Church Council and was Sunday School Superintendent for many years. She spent her retirement years cooking and baking for friends and family and entertaining people brought her great joy. She also enjoyed quilting and traveling.
Carol’s loving family includes her children: Kara Lynn Peters, Kandis (Tim) Gilmore and Kory (Tara) Flory all of Minot; Kenny Flory of Harvey and Kimberly Haugen and Kirk (Linda) Flory of Bismarck; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; sisters: Janice Cooper of Minot and Elaine Hogan of Rossford, Ohio and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband: LeRoy; siblings: Weslie and Laverne; sons-in-law: Walter Peters and John Haugen; grandson: Taylor Flory; nephew: Jeffrey Vannett and niece: Bobbie Jo Hogan.
Celebration of the Life of Carol Lindekugel: Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Southside Church of the Nazarene- Minot. A delayed stream of the service may be viewed, starting on June 7, by using https://www.mtmsales.net/thomas
Visitation: Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park -Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Sunnyside Elementary School or Southside Church of the Nazarene.
