Dawson Kabe Kapla, the precious son of Brittaney and Mike Kapla, was born sleeping on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 9:15 am weighing 3 pounds, 2 ounces and was 16.5 inches long.
Dawson was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition at just 9 weeks gestation. He showed his strength and determination by defying many odds until peacefully passing away at 31 weeks gestation. Brittaney, Mike, and their four other children will always carry a magnitude of wonders about Dawson and who he would’ve grown to be. He will forever live in their hearts and they find comfort in knowing they will be reunited with Dawson some day.
Dawson is survived by his parents, Mike and Brittaney; siblings, Evan, Brynlee, Ariana, and Kambryn; grandparents, Tom and Karen Kapla; and very special friends, Susan Dinga and family, Trista Schander, Stacy Gangl, Michael and Chelsey Helmers, Justin and Jackie Fleck, Ryan and Heather Miller & Lisa Kochmann, and Chelsey Kralicek.
A very special thank you is owed to several who handled Mike and Brittaney’s health and hearts so carefully throughout their journey. Dr. Delvo, her nurse Ari, and all of the incredible staff at Essentia Women’s Center. Nurses, Chasidey, and Jolene at CHI St. Alexius Labor & Delivery.
