Jimmy LaVallie Jr, 31, Minot, died Monday, November 20, 2023, in his home.

Jimmy Marshall LaVallie JR was born in Roosevelt, Utah on March 26, 1992 to Leah (Enno) Brien and Jimmy LaVallie SR. He later moved to Minot, ND in 1995. He attended Longfellow Elementary School going into Minot High where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He earned his second-degree black belt that he was so very proud of. After graduating high school on May 29, 2011. He went to Wahpeton, ND at North Dakota State College of Science to further his education with automotive and auto body. After college he returned to Minot where he met his wife Nicole (Gulbranson) LaVallie.

They were united in marriage on May 1, 2014. They were blessed with five children. Two unborn and three surviving children: Warren Landon LaVallie, Raiden Theodore LaVallie and Zia Adriann LaVallie. They made their home and life together in Minot, ND. He started working at Westlie Motor Company in 2014 until present day. He was a jack of all trades. He worked as a mechanic and most recently he worked for the parts department helping where he could. He worked for Westlies for nearly a decade.  

Jimmy was a member of New Horizon MC Club in Minot, ND where he valued the friendships and family he made.

Family was the most important thing to Jimmy. He made sure everyone was taken care of when they needed it. He was always there when asked. He enjoyed being outdoors working in the yard or with a fishing pole in his hand alongside his son Warren. He treasured his time with his grandparents and the time he got to spend with them. He was born Chippewa and was learning more about his Native culture from his mom Leah and his uncle George. 

Most knew him as a son, grandson, husband, father, brother, uncle and nephew and friend. He had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh. He had a unique sense of humor. Jimmy will be missed deeply by all who were blessed to share in his life and his journey.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 9 years Nicole LaVallie and their three children Warren, Raiden and Zia. Maternal grandparents Janet and Leroy, parents Leah Brien, Bobby Brien all of Minot, ND. Siblings Sheena LeftBear, James St. Claire, Chyenne and Cody LaVallie. Numerous aunts and uncles that includes Lee Jeannotte, Dale Perronteau, and Darryl Jeannotte along with many cousins.

Jimmy was preceded in death by two infant children and his best friend and brother in life Anthony Ray Forsman. Extended family George Perronteau, Carol Jeannotte, Janice Perronteau, Doug Perronteau and his father-in-law Steve Gulbranson.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot
Visitation: Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until the start of Mass at 1:00 p.m. at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to a fund established at Gate City Bank in Minot for the benefit of Jimmy and Nicole’s children.
