Vivian J. Ketterling, 89, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Wishek Living Center, Wishek, ND.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Bismarck Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Linton City Cemetery. Family will be receiving guests one hour prior to the service.
Vivian was born June 8, 1934, to Herman and Mary (Klein) Bader in Wishek, ND. She grew up in the Wishek area and graduated from Wishek High School in 1951, and then attended Ellendale Teacher’s College. From 1951 to 1953 she taught school, later, from 1987 to 1988 she worked at the Wishek Hospital, then she began work at Rosenbluth Travel until 2004.
On September 10, 1954, she married Raymond Ketterling in Wishek. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed northeast of Zeeland, ND until 1989 when they moved to Linton, ND. After Ray’s death, she moved to Mandan, ND. She started employment at the Fairfield Inn in 2005, until her retirement in 2012. She worked part time at Dan’s Super Valu until 2013.
Vivian enjoyed listening to country music, crocheting, embroidery, playing piano, reading, putting together 1000-piece puzzles, and Find-a-Word books.
Vivian is survived by her children, Bruce (Cindy) Ketterling, Wishek, ND, Brenda (Terry Weippert) Beckman, Jamestown, ND, Byron (Denise) Ketterling, Wishek, ND, and David (Traci) Ketterling, West Fargo, ND; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Jerome (Sher Tally) Bader, Lincoln, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents; sisters, Idella Bader and Doris Logan.
