Diane M. Benfiet, 75, of Lincoln, passed away on November 1, 2023.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Bismarck Funeral Home. Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
Diane was born August 3rd, 1948 to Raymond and Shirley (Nagel) Snow in Bismarck, ND. She graduated from Bismarck High School and then spent some time in California before moving back to North Dakota. She met the love of her life, Karry Benfiet, and they were married August 21st, 1976 and had two boys, Beau and Brett. She worked for the USDA APHIS: Wildlife Services and after 19 years of dedicated work she retired in 2013.
Diane loved being outdoors. She loved to go camping, fishing and hunting. She was an excellent shot and still holds the record in the family for the longest shot deer. Karry and Diane spent most of their summers outside tending to their huge garden and swimming in their pool. If you ever stopped over in the summer you were sure to leave with some kind of fresh vegetable in hand. But what Diane loved doing the most was spending time with her family. She was happiest when the whole family was together. She loved cooking and baking for everyone and everyone loved when she would do it. You never left Diane’s house hungry. She always made sure her guests were treated like family. You felt loved and taken care of when you were around her.
Diane’s two boys were the light of her life. She would do anything for her sons. The only thing better than being a mom to Diane was being a grandma. She loved her 5 grandchildren so much and always made sure they had fresh cookies or treats to eat when they would visit. Each grandchild had their own special relationship with her; from her oldest (22) down to her youngest (2). Diane had a way to make you feel so loved when you were in her presence with her big hugs and even bigger smile.
Diane is survived by her husband, Karry, Lincoln, ND, of 47 years. Her sons, Beau, Lincoln, ND and Brett (Natalie), Bismarck, ND. Her five grandchildren: Kyler and Logan, Dickinson, ND, Jaxon, Ryker and Ava, Bismarck, ND. Her brother, Doug, Mexico. Along with some cousins and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Shirley Snow; and her brother, Robert.
