Robert L. Stanley, 92, died on October 21, 2023, at Edgewood in Mandan, ND.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Bismarck Funeral Home. The burial will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
Robert was born on August 16, 1931, to Frank and Faye Stanley in Altoona, KS. He graduated from Altoona High School and attended Oklahoma State University. Robert’s career was that of an independent truck driver.
Robert was united in marriage to Thelma Anstine on February 17, 1950, and shared their life together until Thelma’s passing in 2013.
Robert served in the North Dakota National Guard and the Army Reserves. He was a past member of the American Legion, Elks, and Masonic Lodge.
Robert is survived by his son, Leonard (Reva) Stanley, Bismarck, ND; daughter, Mary Ellen Stanley, Mandan; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; his brother, Harry R. (Phyllis) Stanley, Sulphur Springs, TX and his sister, Lenore (Ronnie) Walker, Thayer, KS.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma; son, David; parents, Frank and Faye Stanley; sister, Doris Baker; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Walker.
