Milo Lavern Wietstock, 89, of Bismarck, passed away on Sept. 16, 2023 at Missouri Slope Care Center. Cremation has taken place and internment at
the North Dakota Veterans’ Cemetery will occur at a later date.
Milo was born on Jan. 24, 1934 to Oscar and Violet (Mutschler) Wietstock in Arena, ND. He graduated from Wing High School in 1952. Milo enlisted in
the U.S. Air Force in 1952 serving as a radio operator until being honorably discharged in July of 1956. He married Gladys Wise on June 15, 1958 in
Wing, ND. Milo graduated from Jamestown College in 1960. Milo and Gladys had three sons. Milo started his career working for the US General
Account Office in Los Angles, CA before eventually relocating to Detroit, MI where he was an Assistant Regional Manager. Upon retirement, Milo
and Gladys moved to Bismarck to be close to family and friends. Milo’s interests include golf, supporting his sons’ extracurricular activities, and
serving on various church boards.
He is survived by his loving wife Gladys, of 65 years; 3 sons, Steven (Anne), of South Bend, IN, Shawn, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Timothy (Kendra) of Goshen, IN, 2 grandchildren, Megan (Mark) Musick and Matthew, and a sister, Arlys Poppke, of Bismarck.
He was preceded in death his parents, 2 brothers, Loren Ardell and Kenneth, and sister, Janice Fetzer.
