Clarence Schlegel, 93, of Bismarck, passed away on Sept. 1, 2023 in a Bismarck Care Center. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 12:30 p.m. at the Bismarck Funeral Home. Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
A rosary will be held at 12:00 p.m. prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
Clarence was born on July 11, 1930 in Fingal, ND to Joseph and Mary (Sherman) Schlegel. He married Fern Wadeson on April 3, 1961 in Fingal, ND. Clarence enlisted in the U.S. Army on Jan. 9, 1952 and was honorably discharged on Dec. 14, 1953.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Fern, of Bismarck, 3 brothers, Herbert (Bonnie) Schlegel, of Fargo, ND, Alex (Jane) Schlegel, of Valley City, ND, Norbert (Joy) Schlegel, of Bowden, ND, 2 sisters, Eleanor Kemmer, of Enderlin, ND and Betty (Ordean) Sevenson, of Moorhead and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary, brothers, Robert, Rudolph, Wilfred, Joe and Albert and sisters, Mary (Herman) Morth, Cecilia and Esther.
