Traci Demarce

Traci Demarce, 31, of Roseglen, passed away August 4, 2023. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at the Ralph Wells Memorial Complex in White Shield. Burial to follow at the Arickara Congregational Cemetery. 

Wake services will be starting at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at the Ralph Wells Memorial Complex in White Shield. 

Traci LaMae “Wi Anpo Ska Win” (White Dawn Woman) was born March 25, 1992, in Minot, ND.  She was raised in White Shield, ND for the majority of her life.  She began her education at the White Shield Head Start continued on to Margaret Breuer Elementary for Kindergarten thru 8th grade.  She spent her junior high years at Circle of Nation School in Wahpeton, ND.   She then came back home to continue her high school days at White Shield High school.  

In her early years, she loved dancing Jingle dress, fancy shawl and  traveling to pow-wows with her family.  In high school she enjoyed playing basketball and track.  She enjoyed being around horses.  Her first horse she and her siblings had was named “Gray”.  Then they all began riding horse.  She would be the one who wanted to ride bulls and she did.  You would find her and her dad working or practicing down in the round pen.  She was an All-Around cowgirl, Our Cowgirl.

As she got older she ventured off and went down to Pine Ridge, SD.  Where she found her True Love.  In this union, her daughter Jontay Marie Iron Horse was born.  A year later her son Edward James Iron Horse was born.  Her heart was broken when he passed away.  

Traci and Jontay moved back home to White Shield, to build a foundation for herself and daughter.  She then moved to Spirit Lake for a spell and started working at the Spirit Lake Casino as a House keeper.  Then, moved to Bismarck, ND to live with her sister Tyra.  

After some time in Bismarck she was blessed with her son Jayce Julian Walker.  Her heart has always is in White Shield and she moved back home once again.

Traci did her best to be a good mom and auntie.  She always made sure everyone was good and always taken care of. 

She is going to be greatly missed by all that knew her. 

Traci has gone home to be with her son, Edward James Iron Horse. Brothers; Donavan Dixon II and John Clyde Dixon. Grandparents; Keith & Laura Fox, Jerry & Phoebe Dixon. Uncles; Julian “Goose” Fox, Keith “Sonny-Boy” Fox Jr. Auntie Arlene Fox and her brother Wambli Charging Eagle.

She left behind, her two babies, Jontay Iron Horse and Jayce Walker. Her mom Tana Fox, Dad, Donovan Dixon.  Brother, PeeJay and Tevin, Sisters; Paige, Tyra, Daun “Buns”.  Many aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, nieces, nephews, and many brothers and sisters.
