Arin Marchand

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Arin Marchand, 44, Minot, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 in a Minot Hospital.

Arin was born on February 16, 1979 to Kathleen Marchand in Bottineau, North Dakota. His family moved to Watford City in 1981 where he attended grade school. In 1992, they moved to Minot where he graduated from Minot High School with the class of 1997. Arin earned college degrees in both math and geology, through Minot State University and Bismarck State College.

While attending college Arin worked at 10 N. Main as a chef. Upon the receipt of his degrees Arin obtained employment with Neset and later worked for local soil testing companies.

In 2012, Arin married Michelle Wallace. From this union a son, Otto (11) and a daughter Violet (8) were born. Arin loved to go on adventures with his family. Camping, going to hockey games and attending the Norsk Hostfest; He was always passionate about his family and had a special place for his fur babies.

Arin will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, willingness to help others and always looking for the next family adventure.

Arin is survived by his children, Otto and Violet, Minot; mother, Kathleen Marchand, Minot; grandmother, Grace Marchand, Newburg, ND; uncles, Bruce Marchand (Nancy Pfeifer), Coleharbor, Clyde Marchand, Giddings, TX, and Tim Marchand, Fargo; special cousins, Jessica (Nathan) McCain, Pinetop, AZ, Ryan (Kari) Marchand, Dillworth, MN, and Brooklynn Marchand, Benedict.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Freddie Marchand; great grandparents Fred (Hannah) Marchand and Franklin (Myrtle) Johnson.

Visitation: Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to a benefit account for Otto and Violet established at 1st International Bank and Trust.
