Steve L. Schiele

Steve L. Schiele, 52, Minot, ND passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, in Rock Springs, WY.

Steve was born February 24, 1971, in Minot, ND to Marlin and Marilyn (Miller) Schiele. He grew up in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1989.

Steve spent his early years as an adult working as a mechanic in Minneapolis until joining the transportation world as a truck owner/operator based out of Ashton, ID and Minot, ND as a part of Schiele Enterprises. He was dedicated to his work spending the majority of his working years on the road.

Steve married his longtime love, Heather Wilson on May 7, 2011. Together they enjoyed getting together with friends and family. When he had time, Steve enjoyed the outdoors while hunting, fishing or snowmobiling. He was a collector of things he came across on the road, where a good deal was the ultimate score!

Steve will be remembered by most as ‘Squeelie,’ although everyone seems to spell this nickname differently. Anyone who knew Steve, knew that his love of vehicles started at a young age when he attempted to ride his trike from the Miller farm to the Schiele farm a mile away. That love continued as he learned to drive motorized vehicles, which he typically squealed the tires on, hence the nickname. Steve was one of a kind and will be remembered for having a zest for life, which his constant ear to ear smile showed. No matter where he went or what he did, he made an impression on others.

Steve is survived by his loving wife: Heather Schiele, Minot; parents Marlin and Marilyn Schiele, Minot; brother Brad (Suzie) Schiele, Fargo, ND and their children Kenzi and Carson Schiele; sister Kelli (Matt) Hillerud, San Diego, CA and their children Mariah and Kinley Hillerud; grandmother Bernadine Schiele, Mohall, along with several aunts, uncles and many cousins, including Cousin Bob “Bob Miller.”

Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents Jerome Schiele, Peter and Theresa Miller, uncle Randy Zerr, uncle Marvin Miller, and cousins Doug and Darren Miller.
