Robert Harvey, 63, Minot, formerly of Lincoln Park, MI, died Monday, June 26, 2023, in a Minot assisted living facility.

Robert was born April 24, 1960, in Trenton, MI, to Robert and Jean Harvey. He was raised and educated in Lincoln Park.

Robert enlisted in the US Air Force on August 16, 1977. He served his country honorably all over the world during his twenty-three year career in security forces. He was deployed to Germany, and Saudia Arabia until retiring from Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota on June 30, 2000.

Robert was joined in marriage to Janice on May 7, 1983.  This union was blessed with a daughter, Allison. Robert graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Minot State University in 2007.

Robert was a member of the Church of Christ in Minot, where he taught Sunday School.

Robert was a talented magician who loved to share magic tricks with others. He enjoyed gardening and played guitar so he could provide the joy of music to his grandchildren. He was the best grandpa, who deeply valued every moment with them.

Robert shared a beautiful life with his wife Janice. Together, they enjoyed visiting family and playing with the grandkids. He will be remembered for his generosity and strong faith.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Janice, Minot; daughter Allison (Travis) Waswick, Mayville, ND; grandchildren Madeline, Aubrey, Emily and Levi Waswick; sister Elizabeth (Skip) Culp, Monroe, MI; brother-in-law: Louis Kanalos, New Boston, MI; nieces Heather Mathieu, Eastpointe, MI, Kimberly (Dominick) Mento, New Port, MI and Jean (Marty) Herbison, Gibraltar, MI; great-nephew Joshua Mathieu and McCenzie (Gabby) Mento; great-nieces Mersadeez Mento, Quinn Herbison and Aubyn Herbison.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jean and sister Irene Kanalos.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the Church of Christ, Minot, ND. To view a livestream of the service access https://www.minotchurchofchrist.com/sermon-s-and-broadcast-s
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service in the church on Saturday.
Memorials are preferred to the Trinity CancerCare Center in Minot.
