Harlee Kvalnes, 49, of Benedict, passed away on June 30, 2023.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Garrison, ND. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, July 7, 2023, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Garrison, ND with a Rosary at 7:00 PM.
Harlee John Kvalnes was born on April 29, 1974, in Lisbon, ND. He grew up in rural Fort Ransom, ND and graduated from Litchville High School. He continued on to North Dakota State College of Science then decided to get his certification through Job Corps of ND. He then went on to discover his many different likes and dislikes.
He was a lover of family and of learning new things. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, horseback rider, and farmer/rancher. He enjoyed his animals and taking care of his family.
Harlee was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; mother-in-law, and father-in-law.
Harlee is survived by his wife of 25 years Mona (Monique Boner), Benedict, ND; four brothers, Glenn (Yvonne) Hillyer, Detroit Lakes, MN, Walter (Julie) Hillyer, Riverdale, UT, Jim (Lisa) Hillyer, Bennington, OK, Aaron Kvalnes, Fort Ransom, ND; two sisters, Christina (John) Guttormson, Fort Ransom, ND, Allie (Kent) Naze, Paducah, KY; three sisters-in-law, Marie (Mark) Moldenhauer, Kathy (Dino Neis) Aberle, Crissy (Rob) Jarchow; seven nieces; 13 nephews; many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
