Blair Hasselstrom, 66, of Bismarck, passed away on June 26, 2023, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.

A celebration of life will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 14, 2023, at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, ND.  Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.

Blair was born on July 9, 1956, to Gordon and Mildred (Johnson) Hasselstrom in Crosby, ND. He was raised on the family farm in Alamo and graduated from Crosby High School, he then went on to attend North Dakota State College of Science and majored in mechanics.

On July 17, 1976, he married his high school sweetheart, Diane (Dini) Hallgren.  Together they raised their children, Melissa and Cory, who he loved dearly.

Blair enjoyed working as a mechanic, driving limousine, fishing, Sunday cruises with his kids, chasing rainstorms, camping with friends and family, and watching the Vikings.  His favorite car to drive was his 1974 Roadrunner.

Blair received a kidney transplant on November 5, 1975, from his sister, Cindy.  From this day forward he felt he was given a second chance at life.  He would always say, life is what you make it, you gotta live life to the fullest, and you have got to make your own sunshine.

Blair will be deeply missed by all who shared his life, his legacy of love that he shared with Dini will live on through his family. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, he especially loved hanging out with his grandson, JJ.  Everyone knew, whenever you saw Blair, he would have a joke to share.  He loved his friends and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his children, Cory Hasselstrom and Melissa Hasselstrom; grandson, JJ Hasselstrom; goddaughter, Ann Wald; brothers, Gregg (Liz) Hasselstrom and Carter (Lori) Hasselstrom; sister, Cynthia Mogard; brother-in-law, Mark Young; mother-in-law, Jeanette Hallgren; in-laws, Ramona Eutsler, Gloria (Maynard) Fenster, Melissa (Greg) Strand, Susan (Mike) Schmidt, and Duane (Terri) Hallgren.

Blair is preceded in death by his wife, Dini; his parents; sister, Rosenette; and brother-in-law, Jade Mogard.
