James “Jim” Hoppe, 75, of Bismarck, passed away June 18, 2023. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bismarck Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.
Jim was born on April 28, 1948, to Martin & Ruby (Schwartz) Hoppe.
Jim graduated from Wing High School 1966 and then received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at Moorhead State University in 1970.
Jim was in the ND National guard for 28 years. He retired at the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was a part of Century 21 Morrison Reality for almost 26 years. Other agents sought him out for his knowledge and as a trusted broker associate, especially in commercial real estate. Jim was an avid gardener and enjoyed preserving his produce. He also loved to hunt and fish.
Jim’s niece and nephew Kelli & Jesse were a joy in his life. He was extremely devoted to his mother Ruby and stepfather Joe. He cared for them and assisted them in their needs.
He will be deeply missed by his parents Ruby and Joe Schaff; his sister Debra Haus and Husband Ron; Stepbrothers, Steve Thorson and wife Roberta, Calvin Thorson and wife Dorothy, Joe Schaff Jr., Bob Schaff and wife Nadine, Bill Schaff and wife Lenore, Ed Schaff, and wife Bonnie; Stepsister Kathy Albrecht and husband Dave; Aunts and Uncles, Betty Berg, Harold Schwartz, Delores Wagner, Ron Schwartz, Ann Schwartz, and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Martin Hoppe, stepfather Elmer Thorson, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and grandparents.
