Dale Ellingson, 83, Bismarck, formerly of Heimdal, Fairbanks Alaska, and Minot, went to be with Jesus on June 16, 2023.  He was a friendly, caring conversationalist who will be missed by many.

A gathering of friends and family will take place from 2:00-4:00 PM on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Bismarck Funeral Home.

He grew up at the base of Black Hammer Hill, rural Wells County.  He loved to say he was born in the 1930’s to account for his philosophies.  Dale was an educator and salesman until retirement.  Living in Alaska was the highlight of his life, as was spending winters in Florida for the last 12 years.

Dale participated in so many activities – bowling, softball, horseshoes, tennis, racquetball, trap and silhouette shooting, kayaking, biking, skiing, hunting and fishing; but pickleball was his favorite sport.  He was known by many as “Mr. Pickleball” as he was the pioneer of the sport in Bismarck.

He was a people person and loved visiting with friends, and any stranger he could corner on the street, or a retail store.

Dale is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda; his daughter Connie (Dana) Archibald along with granddaughter Megan and grandson Brandon; son Corey (Tammy) Ellingson; brothers Bruce (Connie) Ellingson, Monte (Edna) Ellingson and sister Linda (Steve) Swanson; nieces and nephews Heidi, Ryan, Kyle, Elizabeth, Lydia, Kyle, and Isaac.

Preceding him in death are his parents Ernest and Dagny Ellingson, grandparents, and aunts and uncles.
