Glenda Frederick passed away peacefully on May 31, 2023 at her home in Mandan, ND surrounded by her loving children.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the Bismarck Funeral Home.  Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.

Glenda was born on September 13, 1955 to Albert “Joe Boy” and Margaret “Peggy” (Jollie) Wilkie in Belcourt, ND.  As the oldest of 9 children, Glenda helped raise her siblings and worked at the family’s Red Owl Store.  She graduated from Turtle Mountain Community High School in 1973.

Following graduation, Glenda met the love of her life, Stanley “Soldier” Frederick and they were blessed with four children, Edward, Eric, Elysia and Errin.  Knowing they were meant for each other, Glenda and Soldier decided to get married on April 28, 1984.

They owned and operated Bald Eagle Construction for several years.  They company was successful in obtaining contracts with the Turtle Mountain Tribe, Bureau of Indian Affairs, North Dakota Department of Transportation, Minot Air Force Base, and other federal and state agencies.  Bald Eagle was a certified 8(a) contractor and was a member of the Minority Contractors Association (MCA) of North Dakota.

In mid-1990’s, Glenda and Soldier moved their family to Mandan, ND.  In 1996, both began working for Laducer & Associates, Inc.  Over the next 26 years, Glenda worked on various contracts as a data entry keyer, verifier and team leader.

After Soldier passed away in 2009, Glenda also worked part-time for M&H, Petro Service USA and Visiting Angels.

Glenda was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend.  She had a wonderful sense of humor, always had a smile on her face and a laugh we can still hear today.  Glenda enjoyed family gatherings, holidays, playing bingo and spending time with all her babies.

She is survived by her mother, Margaret (Peggy) Wilkie, of Bismarck; her 3 sons, Edward Wilkie, of Belcourt, Eric Frederick, of Mandan, Errin Frederick, of Mandan; her daughter, Elysia Frederick, of Mandan; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Susan (James) Laducer, of Bismarck and Janice Wilkie (James Schumacher) of Ipswich, SD; her brothers, Timothy (Marie) Wilkie, of Wilkesboro, NC and Phillip Wilkie, of Bismarck.
