Dennis R. Berg, 76, of Bismarck, passed away on June 2, 2023 at his home. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 8, at 10:30 a.m. at Bismarck Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bismarck Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service. A livestream of the service will be available on the Bismarck Funeral Home website.
Dennis was born on May 27, 1947 to Reinhold and Elsie (Klinger) Berg in Bismarck, ND. He was a very proud Vietnam veteran and wore his Vietnam caps proudly and with honor. Dennis also received a Bronze Star for his service and duty in Vietnam.
He married Kay Peterson on May 19, 1974. Dennis worked as a Veteran Service Officer for Burleigh County for over 19 years. He was a very avid hobby photographer and loved outdoor and animal photos.
He is survived by his wife Kay of 49 years, sisters, Diane and Denise, of Cave Creek, AZ, sister-in-law, Georgie Ann (Bunny) Huber, brother-in-law and sister-in-law James (Faye Ellen) Peterson, of Ronan, MT and many nieces, nephews as well as great and great great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters-in-law and grandparents.
The family gives a very heartfelt thank you to all the care givers at CHI St. Alexius Home and Healthcare that allowed him to be able to be in his own home with the dignity he deserved.
