Michelle Lynn Permentier

Michelle Lynn Permentier, 47, Minot, passed away peacefully in a Minot hospital surrounded by her loving family on May 24th 2023.

Michelle was born July 21, 1975, on the Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas to Gary W. and Mary F. (Hummel) Angell. She graduated from Minot High School in 1995 and from Quentin Burdick Job Corps in 1998 as a medical transcriptionist.

Michelle was united in marriage to Yves Permentier on December 20th, 2003. They made their home in Minot, ND.

Michelle held several jobs throughout the years and really loved working with children, evidenced by operating her own daycare for several years, followed by working for Minot Public Schools as an ELL Paraprofessional for 10 years.  She also really enjoyed her most recent position as a Communications and Administrative Lead Coordinator for the Economic Assistance HAF Program for the State of North Dakota as it was an opportunity for her to help people and give back, one of her biggest passions.

Michelle enjoyed spending time with family, game nights, watching movies or Dallas Cowboys football games, road trips, concerts, crafting, and reading (especially to her grandchildren).  She loved going all out decorating for Halloween and handing out tons of candy and goodies to trick or treaters.  She could not turn down sour cream & onion chips or a pepperoni & pineapple pizza washed down by some iced tea or a cherry lime aid.  Michelle had a hiding place around the house for each size box Amazon has – local delivery services all knew her by name through the almost daily year-round deliveries.

She was genuine, thoughtful and had a heart of gold, always thinking about others first. Even strangers benefited from her thoughtfulness and giving personality through frequent simple gestures such as paying it forward at ice-cream and fast-food drive-throughs.  She was beautiful. A cherished daughter, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.  She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to share in her life.

Michelle is survived by her loving husband of nineteen years Yves Permentier, Minot; children Samantha Benjamin (Derek Hoag), Eric Angell, Krista Permentier and Ethan Permentier; grandchildren Oliver and Michael; parents Gary and Mary Angell, grandfather James Hummel; siblings Gary Angell (Tammy), Lisa Vilandre (Robert) and Jennifer Benson (Darnell) along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Michelle was preceded in death by grandparents Ethel Hummel, B.W. Angell and Devota Angell; aunts and uncles Rick and Marlys Hummel, Janet Foster and Betty Hummel; cousins T.J. Bauer and Tanya Hummel.
