Margaret Wagner, 82, of Max, passed away on April 16, 2023, at Trinity Hospital surrounded by her family.

A Private Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison, ND. Burial to follow at Peace Cemetery, Max.

Margaret was born on April 23, 1940, in Harvey, ND to Sebastian and Elizabeth (Richter) Martain. She was raised in Harvey by her father Sebastian and Stepmother Theresa Venhaus. In November of 1959, she married Don Wagner in Minot, ND, they were married for 58 years. Together they made their home in Epping for eight years and Max for 52 years. They raised their three children Randy, Korey, and Sandy.

Margaret enjoyed spending her time with her family, whether it be attending her children’s or grandchildren’s events or travelling with Don. She kept busy with cabin life at Strawberry Lake, pontooning, fishing, tending to her flowers, or baking her homemade buns. She also found enjoyment in puzzles, bingo, slots, knitting, playing cards, and spending time with her beloved pets.

Margaret will be deeply missed by her children, Randy (Robin) Wagner, Sandy (Randy) Swanson; daughter-in-law, Kim Wagner-Pechtl; grandchildren, Kelsey Patterson, Cody Swanson, Carly Swanson-Harris, Keegan Swanson, Tyler Wagner; six great-grandchildren; brother, Duane (Alice) Martian; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe (Jan) Moore; and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Don; son, Korey Wagner; brothers, Conrad Martian, Jerome Martian; sisters, Helen Ayers, Agnes Boekhout, Irene (Marvin) Ewert.
