Lance Charging, of Fargo, died unexpectedly on April 16, 2023, from heart complications.  He was only 48 years old.  The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Bismarck Funeral Home. Family will be greeting guests one hour prior to the service.

Lance was born on July 9, 1974, to Don and Barb (Lind) Charging.  He took great joy in being the only child and the apple of his mom’s eye.  Lance was raised and educated in Minot, ND.  He graduated from Minot High School, then went on to Brown College in Minnesota where he earned an associate degree while making it on the dean’s list with honors.

Lance met and married the love of his life, Kellie Petersen in 2003.  They later parted ways but remained good friends.

He was an enrolled member of the MHA Nation and baptized in the Catholic Faith.

Lance worked for various businesses including Wells Fargo Bank, Kohls, and Macy’s Dept Store.

His passion was music and sports.  Hard rock and heavy metal were his go to music and enjoyed attending several KISS concerts and collecting their memorabilia.  NFL and NBA were his favorite sports to watch.  In the early days, Dan Marino and Larry Bird were his dudes he enjoyed watching, but Tom Brady was his Goat (Greatest of All Time).  He also loved watching reruns of “Friends”, with his favorite line being, “How you doin?”

Lance definitely lived life his own way and loved family and friends with a passion.  He was a kind and humble man with a mischievous grin and smile that lit up a room.  He had a special bond with his cousins, Ramey and Lindsey.  Ramey passed away in 2008 from a brain tumor.  Lindsey and Lance could disagree like brother and sister, but their bond was unbreakable.

You can shed tears that Lance is gone, or you can smile because he lived.

Lance will be deeply missed by his mother and stepdad, Barbara (Mark) Sauvageau; father and stepmom, Donald (Shelly) Charging; stepbrother, Brandon Sauvageau; stepsister, Brienne (Joe) Batcha; half-sisters, Cadence and Cheyenne Charging; aunts, Colleen Folven, Kathy (Terry) Harder, and Cheryl Hanson; uncles, Frank (Danile) Henry, Robin Lind, Gary (Racheal) Lind, Ron (Linda) Sauvageau, and Darrel (Gloria) Sauvageau; cousins, Leonika (Vaughn) Charging Davison, Shane (Leslie) Hillman, Lindsey Hillman, Shayna (Levi) Wiggins, Lori Ann Henry, Lexus Henry, Cedar (Russ) Thomas, Nicole (Bradi) Poitra, Jenna Henry, Monica Charging, Samantha (Andrew) Greenwaldt, Alex Lind, Josie (Nathan) Schlosser, Peyton (Josh) Erdmann, and Parker Lind.
