David Anton Lupo

David Anton Lupo, 67, Dickinson, died on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at CHI St. Alexius Dickinson. David’s Celebration of Life Service will be 7 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2023 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Pastor Gary Ladbury officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

David Anton Lupo was born on July 12, 1955 at Dickinson, the son of Anton “Geno” and Karen (Larsen) Lupo. He was raised and educated in Dickinson where he graduated from Dickinson High School in 1973. He later received his BS Degree in Biology from DSU.

He was co-owner of The Fad, worked at SolarBee and his last 15 years prior to retirement he worked as a water treatment plant operator at Southwest Water Authority.

Dave was united in marriage to Barbara Church on April 20, 1985 in Dickinson. He belonged to the Dickinson Roughrider Officials Association, coached Little League Baseball and was an assistant coach for Legion Baseball.

He was inducted into the DSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1992 for his achievements during the ’70s in football, track and baseball. He also had served as a Boy Scout Troop 26 Leader.

Dave is survived by his wife, Barb; two sons, Christopher (Jacey) Lupo, Rapid City, SD and Michael Lupo, Libby, MT; one granddaughter, Hazel Lupo; siblings, Marla Stevens, Glenburn and Joel (Josann) Lupo, Fountain Hills, AZ; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Craig Church and Carol Bartz; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly; his parents; brother-in-law, March Stevens; his mother and father-in-law, Jackie and Doc Church; and many aunts and uncles.

Memorials are preferred to the Dickinson High School Booster Club (athletics) or Dickinson High School Band Department.
