Karen Rademacher, 78, Minot, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 in her home, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous four year battle with cancer.
Karen Lee Hauser was born March 21, 1945, in Foxholm, ND to Albert and Grace (Houston) Hauser. She was raised on the family farm east of Foxholm and attended grade school in Foxholm. She completed high school in Carpio, graduating with the class of 1963.
Karen was united in marriage to Daniel F. Rademacher of Foxholm on October 5, 1963. They made their home on the Rademacher family farm and were blessed with five children, Steven, Sheila, Kevin, Keith and Tamara.
Karen and Daniel owned and operated a Grade A Dairy Operation. She also worked as a cook for many years at Schatz Truck Stop, Berthold School and The Sleep Inn.
Karen was devoted to her Catholic faith. She attended St. Mary’s Parish in Foxholm, where she was active with the Christian Mothers. In 1998 Karen and Daniel moved to Minot where they became members of St. John’s Catholic Church.
Karen was a loving, caring and generous wife, mother and grandmother. The needs of others came first. She loved to cook and bake for everyone and large portions were made to ensure she didn’t run short. Visits from her children and grandchildren were truly treasured moments. Karen was an avid card player and enjoyed time in the yard caring for her flowers. She relished sharing her bounty with her visitors.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of 59 plus years, Daniel F. Rademacher, Minot; children Steven Rademacher (Cindy Krehlik), Minot, Sheila (Mark) Deaver, Berthold, Kevin (Kari) Rademacher, Norwich, Keith (Patty) Rademacher, Minot and Tamara (David) Vetter, Berthold; grandchildren Steven Jr. (Chelsea) Rademacher, Miranda (Aaron) Brentrup, Ashley Deaver, Heidi (Joseph) Terfehr, Hayley (Jordan) Timm, Dalton (fiancée Olivia) Rademacher, Kaitlyn Rademacher, Kasey (Jordan) Rabe, Darby (fiancé Joseph Krupa) Marlenee; Garrett, Grace and Luke Vetter; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Michael (Kathy) Hauser, sisters Janet Evanson and Peggy (Bruce) Elberg; sisters-in-law Jean Hauser, Linda Hauser and Margaret Ronnie; brother-in-law, Leonard (Delores) Rademacher along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, twin infant sister, brothers Raymond and Stanley Hauser, brothers-in-law Richard Ronnie and Eldon ‘Buzz’ Evanson, sister-in-law Marlys Hauser and great granddaughter Carter Timm.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023, at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
Recitation of the Rosary & Vigil Prayer Service: 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
Visitation: Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot immediately following Mass.
