Adeline Novak

Adeline Novak, 95, Minot died on Thursday, March 16, 2023 in a Minot memory care facility.

Adeline G. Amon was born on September 9, 1927 in Upham, ND to John and Gertrude (Trebas) Amon. She was raised on a farm in Little Deep Township of McHenry County and attended school in Upham. As a young adult she was employed at J.C. Penny Department Store and as a manager of Laviks Cleaners.

Adeline married Steve Novak Sr. on March 18, 1968 in Montana. They made their home on a farm on the north edge of Minot where she assisted her husband in raising small grains and cattle. Steve Novak Sr. died on February 4, 2010. More recently, Adeline had resided in Minot; eventually, at the Edgewood Vista Memory Care Unit.

Adeline was a member of Christ Lutheran Church-Minot. She also was active in the Northwest Polkateers.  She was a member of the Eagles Aerie and Moose Lodge and especially enjoyed reading, traveling, dancing and playing bingo.

Adeline’s loving family includes her children: Donna (Oster) (Bob) Dawson of Graham WA, Arlis (Oster) (Rod) Davick of Puyallup WA, and Steve Jr. (Jamie) Novak of Minot; grandchildren: Steve and Will Novak, Tyra Morris and Tari (Curt) Wakefield and David (Renae) Iverson; seven great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; sister: Joylean Ellifrits of Renton WA; in-laws: Joyce Severson of Cedar Rapids, IA, Bonnie Haman of Grand Forks, ND, Irving Novak of Faribault, MN and Shirley Novak of Minot and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Adeline was a part of a five generation family unit.

Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Wallace Amon and Stan (Marie) Amon, granddaughter: Ronna Kaye Iverson, in-laws: Ed Ellifrits, Donald Novak, Phyllis Rasmuson, Carol Dean and Marlys Burggraaf.

Celebration of the Life of Adeline Novak: Monday, March 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Church – Minot. A livestream of the service will be available by using the link in her website obituary.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens – Minot.

Visitation:  Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot.
