Rick Rogness, 61, of Minot, ND died Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in a Fargo Hospital.

Rick was born July 11, 1961 in Fergus Falls, MN, the son of Rollin and Mary Lou (Heady) Rogness. They made their home in various communities across the country during Rick’s childhood, while Rollin served as a Pastor. Rick attended high school at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls, MN, where he met the love of his life, Mae.

Rick was united in marriage to Mae (Soholt) on July 23, 1983 at Ebenezer Lutheran Brethren Church in Mayville, ND. After a few years apart, they were rejoined in marriage again on July 23, 2010 in Minot, ND. Following completion of his schooling, Rick was employed at Minot Sash & Door as a woodworker for over 25 years. Most recently, Rick was employed with Centerspace Homes as a maintenance lead maintaining apartment properties in Minot.

Rick was a member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Brethren Church in Minot, ND. He was also a member of the Kahu Motorcycle Club.

Family was of the utmost importance to Rick. He took great pride in being “Papa Rick” to his 3 grandchildren Tayson Erickson, Beckem & Maevry Rogness and step-grandson’s Hunter & Bentley Hoff. Rick had a love for anything with motor. From his early years racing go-karts with his son Cody to later years restoring Datsun Z cars and finally getting the Corvette he always dreamed of, Rick always had a project to work on. He especially enjoyed cruises in the Corvette with his daughter Caitlin. He also had a love for Harley’s. Both Rick & Mae cherished their time with the Kahu Motorcycle club and taking various bike trips throughout the Midwest. Rick spent much of his time outside in the spring & summer tending to his flowers and lawn, and took great pride in his outdoor pool, which he spent countless hours preparing and maintaining for others to enjoy.

His loving family includes wife of 30 years, Mae; children, Cody (Liz) Rogness and their children, Beckem & Maevry, Fargo, ND; Caitlin (Brooks) Hoff and their children, Tayson Erickson, Hunter & Bentley Hoff, Minot, ND; Parents, Rollin and Mary Lou Rogness, Minot, ND; siblings, Randy (Beth) Rogness, Salem, OR; Shelly (Pete) Pederson, Minot, ND; Russ Rogness, Minneapolis, MN; Melissa (Doug) Koppinger, Minot, ND and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral Service: Monday, March 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Brethren Church in Minot. A delayed streaming of the service will be available Tuesday, March 14th and can be accessed at https://www.mtmsales.net/thomas
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND
Visitation: Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Prayer Service: Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 5:30pm at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Brethren Church in Minot, ND. (Prayer service is Open to the Public)
