Jeraldine Stromberg

Jeraldine ‘Jeri’ Stromberg, 74, rural Minot, died Thursday, February 9, 2023, in a Minot hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Jeri was born August 15, 1948, in Minot, ND to Walter and Lorraine (Pierson) Mathes. She grew up and received her education in Glenburn, ND.

Jeri was united in marriage to Myron M. Stromberg on December 23, 1966 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenburn. They made their home on the Stromberg family farm located a mile and a half east of Glenburn for the next seven years. They were blessed with two sons, Michael and Marlo.

In 1973, they moved to the Wilson farm, that is located in the valley near Foxholm, about a mile south of Baker Bridge.  Jeri worked a variety of jobs during her lifetime in addition to her devoted role as a wife and mother. She was very active in the family farm and ranch.  Jeri worked at the Sears Portrait Studio, where she enjoyed taking photos for a few years. Next was Menards for over a half a decade, where she was quickly known as “grandma.” Near the end of her Menards career, she purchased the Fox Den in Foxholm and owned it for more than a decade.  She then took a position as an Environmental Specialist at Trinity Nursing Home in efforts to be close to a special aunt that was a resident at that time.  After a short break, she went and worked alongside her lifetime friend at Premier Power Plant & Heaters, as the Office Manager for over a half a decade.

Jeri was a member of the Carpio Lutheran Church, where she was a deacon and served on the church council for many years.  She was active in the local homemaker’s group for many years.

She was a huge supporter of anything her boys and grandkids participated in, especially sports, she may have been known as a “sports fanatic”! All of the special people that were a part of her life, knew her as either, “Ma” or “Grandma”.

‘Grandma’ will be missed deeply by all who were lucky and blessed to share in her life.

Jeraldine is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Myron; sons Michael (Kristi Morel) Stromberg and Marlo (Kelly) Stromberg, all rural Minot; grandchildren Jordon (Alyssa) Stromberg, Nolan (Emilee) Stromberg and Brenan and Jena Stromberg; great-grandchildren Elaina and Dahlia, Willow and Walker and Amelia and Michael; sister Phyllis (William) Howard, Idaho Falls, ID and several nieces and nephews.

Jeraldine was preceded in death by her father and mother and twin grandchildren Boydie and Lorraine.
