Yvonne “Bonnie” Phyllis Vise, 76, of Minot passed away Monday, January 16, 2023 at Trinity Hospital in Minot. She was born June 12, 1946, in Minot to her parents Jesse & Alma (Grueneberg) New.

Yvonne was educated in Minot and area schools. She attended the Minot College of Business. She worked as a decorative painter for over 45 years, her work can be found from New Zealand to Alaska. Most of her work was done with oils. Prior to that, she was employed by the Minot Dailey News, working in the classified advertising department and the paper’s library. Yvonne also wrote a gardening column, it was based on interviews with area gardeners, while working for the paper. Prior to that, she worked at Trinity Hospital. She was a grade school valedictorian, while working at the Howdy Café in Burlington. While attending high school, she worked at the American Café in Minot.

Yvonne was a vicarious reader, who often read her way through local and state libraries, on various topics. She loved animals and was a longtime contributor to several animal charities. She was pro-wolf. She once had three Shelties, and her best memories were walking through her huge Peony Beds, with her dogs close at her heels. She has fond memories, of seeing the sunlight glistening on their coats.

Yvonne enjoyed reading and gardening in whatever form. She routinely grew her own poplar trees from cuttings and started beautiful Clump Birches from seed. She could rejuvenate an aging African Violet houseplant, as well as maintain a water garden. She also enjoyed the older forms of needlework. Her love for animals and her pets were often favorite photography and painting subjects.

Yvonne is now tending God’s Flowers, perhaps with her beloved dogs, still by her side.

Yvonne is survived by her husband of 60 years W. Allen Vise of Minot, brother Harold New of North Carolina, brother-in-law Rick (Linda) Vise of Minot, nephews Richie, Todd & Joey Olson and Dustin Vise.

Preceded in death by her parents Jesse & Alma New.
