Thomas “Tom” Josiah Hill, 79, Minot, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in a Garrison Nursing Care Center.

Thomas was born January 31, 1943 at Piqua, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Irene (Alexander) Hill. He was raised and educated in Piqua and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1961. He enlisted with the USAF in 1961 and honorably served his country until 1985, when he retired at the Minot Air Force Base as a Master Sergeant.

Tom was united in marriage to Betty Stockdale on June 17, 1962 at Cambridge, OH. Throughout the years, they lived at a number of Air Force Bases including: Vietnam, Thailand, Greece, along with a number of stints at various places in the United States.

They moved to Minot Air Force Base in 1984 prior to retiring. They had continued to make their home in Minot, where both he and Betty drove bus for Northland Bus Company for a number of years. He became a resident of the Garrison Benedictine Living Center in July of 2019.

Tom had been a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Minot, where he served as a church elder, usher and drove the Church van throughout the years. In addition, his hobbies included, building model railroads and reading.

His loving family includes, wife, Betty Hill, Minot; daughter, Bettina Hill of Minot; 3 grandchildren to include: Jessica Hill Hines, Matt Hill and Steven Delaney; 3 great grandchildren to include, Quinten, Kenton and Zayden; daughter-in-law, Ellen Hill Fagerstrom of Moorhead, MN; sisters, Becky Hill and Mary Hill, both of Ohio.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Luther Andrew and Thomas Josiah, Jr.; and a sister, Ruth Ann.

Celebration of Life service: Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Minot. A livestream of the service can be viewed by accessing https://www.cornerstoneminot.com/watch
Interment: Fortuna Cemetery, Fortuna later in the spring of 2023.
Visitation: Monday, December 12, 2022 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Disabled American Veterans or Cornerstone Presbyterian Church.
