Francis “Charles” Jacobs, 77, of Bismarck, ND, was called home on December 1, 2022.
Charles was born on November 4, 1945, to Frank and Ann (Zahn) Jacobs in Edgeley, ND. Charles was raised on a farm with four brothers and four sisters. After Charles finished school, he joined the Navy. He served in Vietnam, and he loved his country.
Charles and Debb met in Wing, ND. In 1979, they got married and together they had and raised three children – Keith, Justin, and Travis. After the passing of Debb’s parents they helped raise Debb’s youngest sister, Darnell, and are currently raising their grandson, Tryson.
Charles loved being a father, having a good time, dancing with his wife, and always being the life of the party.
In 1990, Charles had his first heart attack resulting in him no longer being able to work. He then spent his spare time wood working in his shed, cracking jokes and helping his wife run daycare. He loved being around the kids and being called “papa.” You could always catch Charles drinking a Diet Coke and sneaking them to his bedroom with his best friend, (dog), Mia.
Charles was proceeded in death by his mother, Ann and father, Frank, in-laws, Hilbert and Gladys Engel, sisters, Ruth, and Bonnie, brother, Ralph, and several in laws.
He is survived by his wife, Debb, sons, Keith, Justin (Theresa), and Travis. Grandchildren, Andrew (Debbie), Shay (Jordan), Tryson, Aubrey, Gabby, Lili, Jace, Hunter (Morgan), Kaylee (Dylan), great-grandson, Karter, brothers, Larry (JoAnn), Kenny (Cari), Jeffrey (Rhonda), sisters, Delaine, and Sherry, in-laws, Ears, Diane (Mike), Denise (Gary), Darnell (Rick), and many nieces and nephews.
Charles never wanted a funeral, so as a family we are respecting his wishes. Cremation has taken place.
