Violet V. Frederick, 97, Bismarck, formerly of Garrison, passed peacefully on November 26, 2022, at her home. Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Bismarck Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Violet was born on July 30, 1925, in Coleharbor, ND to Gottlieb G. and Amelia (Flath) Hummel. She attended nine years of school in Garrison.
Violet married Richard Frederick on November 6, 1947. They made their home in Garrison. Together they owned and operated Fredericks’ Variety Store for twenty-four years. Later, she worked at S & J Hardware Store.
Violets favorite pastime activities were crocheting, playing cards with friends, and spending time with her family.
Violet is survived by her son: Brian (Deb) Frederick; daughter: Sharon Love; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings, her husband, Richard, son, Roger, stepdaughter, Laura Galvin and her granddaughter, Jamie.
