Lucille Nygard at age 91 passed away peacefully in her daughter’s home. She was born 06/12/1931 to Orville and Gunhilda (Fjeldahl) Johnson on her grandparent’s farm in Berthold. She was raised in the Coleharber/Garrison area. She graduated from high school and obtained a teaching certificate and started teaching in the Roseglen area. There she met her husband, Lowell Nygard. They were married 10/23/1949 and began farming. They continued to farm until 1977 when they retired and moved to Garrison ND. While residing there she worked many jobs the last which she enjoyed the most was cooking/catering for Kyle’s Catering. She finally retired at the age of 85 and moved to Bismarck to be closer to her daughters.
She made many friends while in Bismarck. She loved to bake and made many deserts and treats for her friends and family. She was always willing to help out and always did when asked. She was loved by many….
She will be deeply missed by her children. Glen (Bonnie) Nygard Garrison, Gay (Dave) Mantz and Cindy Schatz Bismarck. Her Grandchildren Jason, Jeremy, Jody, Joshua, Jay, Anissa, Eric, Josh, Amanda, Sonja and Derek. Her Brothers Dale, Jim and Paul many nieces, nephews, cousins, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lowell, daughter Bonnie, Son Jon, son-in laws Norm and Dave, Grandchildren Jesse and Weston, Brother Lloyd, and Sister Orpha.
Funeral will be at Bismarck Funeral Home on 11/28/2022 at 1100. Internment at Veterans Cemetery south of Mandan
