Myrtle Ann Waswick Bachmeier, 94, Minot, ND passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Myrtle was born March 30, 1928 to Charles and Laura (Krumery) Seidemann in Armour, SD.  She was reared on a farm and attended a country school.  After her father passed away, later she moved to Minot in 1944 with her mother and other siblings and worked at the Leland-Parker Hotel.

Myrtle married Glenn D Waswick in 1954 in Minot and farmed near Des Lacs, then in 1958 they moved to Minot.  Two years later they moved to a farm east of Granville and continued to ranch and farm at both Granville and Des Lacs until Glenn’s death in 1979.  They raised three children together. Myrtle was a strong woman and worked hard on all areas of the farm, from raising cattle to driving truck and tractor.

Myrtle married Ludvig Bachmeier on July 12, 1980 in Granville. They celebrated their 42nd Anniversary this past June.  They lived in Lansford, where Louie had a job at Lee Brothers and Myrtle part time.  After Louie’s retirement in 1995 they moved to Minot. Myrtle started working for McDonald’s part-time as a greeter at the Dakota Square location.  She retired from there after 13 years.  She enjoyed her job and her customers at McDonalds.

Myrtle had a passion for playing (and winning) bingo. Her other past times included playing cards, crocheting, knitting, baking her famous chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren, canning, gardening and collecting dolls.  Myrtle was an active member of the Moose Club in Minot and a current member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Minot.

In 2014, Myrtle entered Trinity Homes and was a resident there up until the time of her passing.  She was a favorite with many of the Trinity staff.  She enjoyed bingo and socializing with other residents. Myrtle also liked reading the newspaper daily and her favorite magazines.

The simplest pleasures in life made Myrtle happy, but her greatest joy in life was her family. Seeing her grandchildren always put a smile on her face. She was a loving mother to three children, grandmother to three, great grandmother to five, and a great-great grandmother to one. She was especially fond of her nieces and nephews. She loved her family very much and treasured their visits.

Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all of you who have been so kind and thoughtful at this most difficult time. Your love and friendship now and throughout the years has meant so much to all of us and especially to our mom/grandmother.  May God bless the memory of Myrtle.
