Diane “Jill” Carlson

Jill Carlson, 74, Minot and formerly of St. John, ND died on Friday, October 21, 2022 in a Minot nursing home with her family at her side.  She had been battling Alzheimer’s Disease for the past several years.

Diane Jill Foussard was born on November 6, 1947 in Rolla, ND to Emile and Clarice (Olson) Foussard.  She was raised and educated in St. John and graduated from St. John High School in 1965.  She continued her education at Lake Region Junior College in Devils Lake, ND where she received specialized training and her accreditation as a Licensed Practical Nurse. 

Jill married Elmo Carlson of Minot on July 31, 1970 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Rolla, ND.  They made their home in Minot where she was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for forty years, first on the Medical Floors at Trinity Hospital for twenty-four years, and later in the Pediatrics Department of Medical Arts Clinic.  

Jill especially enjoyed baking, gardening, tending her roses and reading. 

Jill’s loving family includes her husband of 52 years Elmo; children:  Sheri (John) Rivera of Rocklin, CA, and Cody Carlson of Minot; grandchildren:  Lukas and Noah Rivera and Lola Carlson; siblings:  Kay Spritzer of New Holland, Pennsylvania, Donna Bryant of St. John, ND, James (Carron) Foussard of St. John, ND, and Nancy (George) Linka of Manhattan, KS and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jill was preceded in death by her parents.
