Elloide Lavern Marschall, 86, rural Max, passed away on Monday October 24, 2022 surrounded by his family at a Minot Hospital.
Elloide was born December 18, 1935 in Minot, North Dakota, the son of August and Rosella (Anhorn) Marschall. He was raised on the family farm in Iota Flat Township of Ward County. He graduated from Minot High School in 1953 and furthered his education at NDSU in Fargo until he returned to the family farm.
Elloide was united in marriage to JoAnn Schmidt on October 12, 1956 at Hope Lutheran Church in rural Sawyer. Throughout the years, he and JoAnn made their home on the family farm, where they raised their four sons on the grain and dairy farm. Hard work made life sweet. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, along with tending to the garden. He was proud of his German family heritage and the farm’s many apple trees.
Elloide was a life-long member of Hope Lutheran Church, where he served in a number of capacities including, Church Council President and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a past member of the Iota Flat Township Board. After retiring from farming in 2002, he served as a volunteer at Trinity Hospital in Minot for many years. Elloide truly enjoyed helping other people.
Those whom shared his life are: his loving wife of 66 years, JoAnn; sons, Michael who preceded him in death in 2015; Craig (Brenda), Darell (Beth) and Todd (Laura); daughter in law, Andrea; 6 grandchildren to include, Sarah Friesner, Emily Moulds, Shelby McInroy, Miriah Marschall Garcia, Natalie Benoit and Isaac Marschall; 8 great grandchildren: Evangeline, Roland, Harley, Otto, Axel, Marshall, Eliza and Elloide; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Elloide was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Wynette (Halden), Vernon Marshall and Gloriann Roteliuk and his son, Michael.
Funeral Service: Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, rural Sawyer. A delayed streaming of the service will be available Sunday, October 30th and can be viewed by accessing https://www.mtmsales.net/thomas
Visitation: Friday, October 28th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers or plants memorials are preferred to Hope Lutheran Cemetery.
