Patrick D. Moch

Patrick Douglas Moch passed away August 25, 2022, at SMP Health-St. Catherine’s North, Fargo, ND following a courageous battle with cancer.

Patrick was born at Cold Spring Ranch, one mile west of Kintyre, ND on November 8, 1937. And just across the hall, the very next day, Pat’s first cousin, (double cousin) Dona was born, November 9, 1937. Patrick is the second of five sons born to Joseph and Elsie Moch. Patrick grew up and attended school in Kintyre. He attended high school at St. John’s Prep School at Collegeville, St. Cloud, MN. He then went on to attend further studies at the North Dakota State School of Science and graduated with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. Patrick entered the army in the spring of 1958, reporting in at Ft. Carson Colorado. He was then recalled into service in 1961 during the Berlin Crisis and had to report to Ft. Lewis-Tacoma, WA.

Patrick and his wife, Lillian, farmed and ranched in the Kintyre/Braddock area for years while raising their family. Patrick enjoyed having his kids work alongside him on the farm and experience all the challenges and benefits that come with country living. Patrick was active in the community including serving on the township, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, the Rural Fire Department, Braddock Wildlife Club and the American Legion in Steele. Patrick was also proud to be a charter member of the South Central Threshing Association. He also enjoyed hunting with family and friends and often hosted classmates from St. John’s as a hunting guide. Upon retirement from farming, Patrick and Lillian moved to Fargo, ND. In recent years, Patrick fulfilled a dream to visit Alaska, and enjoyed gathering weekly with friends and playing pinochle.
Patrick is preceded in death by his wife Lillian (Bernhardt) Moch, his father Joseph J. Moch, his mother Elsie (Dickson) Moch and three brothers, Thomas, Lancescott and Alfred.

He is survived by his brother Joseph and Bonita (Dewitz), children, Greg (Mary Ellen) Moch, Guy (Trish) Moch and Jodi Moch Koski, and his six grandchildren, Ashley (James) Evrard, Tyler Moch, Haley (Justice) Keefauver, Calista Moch, Morgan Koski, and Madison Koski.
