Jean Ann Marks, 96, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at her home with her son and hospice by her side.

Jean Ann was born October 20, 1925, on the family farm in Russell, North Dakota, to Lester and Linda Becker. She graduated from Russell High School in 1943. Jean Ann married the love of her life, Chester T. Marks, in 1944.

Jean Ann was a loving and caring person, a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She loved life, shopping, crocheting, interacting with people, and sending specialty cards to her many cherished friends and family. Losing her eyesight and dealing with cancers never got her down. Jean Ann was proud to be a long-time member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed and loved the little children.

Jean Ann retired after working at the City of Minot Auditorium/Recreation Department for almost 50 years. Throughout those many years of work, she was able to meet many famous people and personalities, like Johnny Cash and Wilt Chamberlain. Her highlight was meeting George Jones during one of his concert trips to Minot. Prior to these years of service, Jean also worked at the old Minot Airport and the Minot Daily News.  Chester died July 6, 2005.

Jean Ann is survived by: her children: Bernadine (Norman) Zanter, Rodney (Kristi) Marks, and Richard Marks. She was a beloved grandmother to six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Jean Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, two brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral service: Monday, October 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Marks Lutheran Church, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Sunday, October 16th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Marks Building Fund.
